About Us
History
Texas Furnace, LLC commenced operations in May of 1990. The corporation is wholly owned by Lendell Martin and members of his family. Mr. Martin has 44 years of experience in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry. Additionally, he has owned an HVAC wholesale distribution company and founded the Red T Coil Company. His experience has given rise to the development of many innovative products that meet the needs of the industry. Because of Lendell’s broad experience in the HVAC market, Texas Furnace Coil Company has become a leader in HVAC innovation.
The manufacture of quality products requires a clear understanding of the market and its needs. When he started Texas Furnace, Mr. Martin drew from his contacts in the HVAC industry to define the product offering of the new company, while securing key employees of the Red-T Coil Company. This strategy, along with the idea of expanding factory operations while maintaining the quality customers expect, has served Texas Furnace, and its customers well. By the end of 2000, Texas Furnace enjoyed a 5+ percent market share in evaporator coil sales, according to the ARI Certification Program.
Texas Furnace factory operations grew between 1990 and 2000 from 40,000 square feet to over 550,000 square feet. The product offering has increased to include a broad base of evaporator coils, air handlers, hydronic heat units, gas furnaces, and mini-split air conditioning and heat pump units. Texas Furnace’s growth has resulted from the establishment of alliances with distributors, prompt delivery of products, and outstanding technical assistance and customer service. Texas Furnace’s long range goal is to become the premier independent coil manufacturer in the ARI Certification Program.
Manufacturing ProcessTexas Furnace defines a quality coil as a coil that meets or exceeds the matched system manufacturer’s original design specifications. Texas Furnace products begin with material that meets stringent quality control objectives. Suppliers are selected on their ability to supply quality material as specified and when specified. Before shipment, all material must be inspected by the vendors to assure that they meet specifications.
Texas Furnace’s quality products result from a combination of high quality material, efficient manufacturing processes, and superior personnel. Fabrication machinery is regularly calibrated according to preset cycle schedules. The company has in-house training for production personnel. Products are tested internally and externally to ensure that they meet established specifications. The management of Texas Furnace is continuously involved in the daily supervision of product fabrication, assembly and testing.
All products are date-coded and tracked to wholesale distributors. Any product failures are returned to the factory for analysis. All failures are tracked to their source and production adjustments are made to prevent future failures. Should a failed product analysis identify a problem in a production run, or in the design, a recall would be immediately issued for the affected products.
Texas Furnace recognizes the importance of every employee in accomplishing its commitment to quality. Production personnel are hourly employees and trained to properly fabricate and assemble the components of the finished products. The assignment of inspectors is based on proven performance of assigned work tasks and an understanding of the desired finished product. Inspectors are identified with the finished goods.
Long Term GoalsThe future of Texas Furnace will include new innovative products that fit the needs of the market. Factory expansion to support increased growth is underway with future innovations being considered. Texas Furnace is a privately held corporation and invests in the future to improve the manufacturing, testing, design, and development processes to insure superior products reach the market in a timely fashion.
